Spiny bear's-breeches

Acanthus spinosus, commonly known as Spiny bear's-breeches, is a perennial ornamental plant that prefers part shade and medium water. It grows to a height of 0.6–1.2 meters and blooms with purple and white flowers from June to September. Suitable for USDA zones 5–9, it thrives in loamy, sandy, or chalky soils. This plant attracts pollinators but is not evergreen and is not toxic.
