Boswellia rivae is an ornamental tree native to the Horn of Africa, belonging to the Burseraceae family. It is known for its fragrant resin, commonly called frankincense. This tree prefers full sun and low water conditions, thriving in USDA zones 9–11. It can grow quite large, reaching heights of 5–10 meters. It blooms in spring (April-May) with white flowers. The soil should be sandy, loamy, or chalky. It is a fragrant, evergreen tree that does not attract pollinators.
