Symplocos pubescens
Symplocos pubescens, commonly known as Hairy sweetleaf, is an ornamental shrub that thrives in part shade with medium water requirements. It typically grows to a height of 1–2.5 meters and is suitable for USDA zones 5–9. The plant produces white and yellow flowers during the summer months (June, July, August) and prefers loamy, sandy, or peaty soil. It is not fragrant, does not attract pollinators, is not toxic, and is not evergreen.
