Cynoglossum torvum, known as Houndstongue, is a biennial ornamental plant that prefers full sun and low water conditions. It grows to a height of 0.6–1.2 meters and blooms from June to August with purple and blue flowers. This plant is suitable for USDA zones 3–9 and grows well in sandy, loamy, or chalky soils. It attracts pollinators but is not fragrant, toxic, or evergreen.
