Acanthus montanus
Acanthus montanus, known as Mountain thistle, is a perennial ornamental plant from the Acanthaceae family. It grows in part shade with medium water needs, reaching 0.6–1.2 meters in height in USDA zones 6–9. It blooms with purple and white flowers from June to August and prefers loamy, clay soils. This plant is not fragrant but attracts pollinators, is not toxic, and is not evergreen.
