Opuntia lucayana, commonly known as Prickly Pear, is a perennial ornamental cactus that thrives in full sun with low water requirements. It grows to a height of 0.3–1 meter and is hardy in USDA zones 4–10. This evergreen plant produces yellow and white flowers from June to August and prefers sandy, loamy, or chalky soils. It is a pollinator attractant.
