Purple witchweed

Striga hermonthica, commonly known as purple witchweed, is an annual ornamental plant that thrives in full sun and requires low water. It typically grows to a height of 0.2–0.5 meters and blooms with purple and pink flowers from July to September. This plant prefers sandy, loamy, or chalky soils and is not fragrant, does not attract pollinators, is not toxic, and is not evergreen. It is suitable for USDA zones 5–8.
