Red tower ginger

Costus barbatus, commonly known as Red tower ginger, is a perennial ornamental plant belonging to the Costaceae family. It thrives in part shade with high water requirements and grows to a height of 1–1.8 meters. This plant produces red and orange blooms typically from July to October and prefers loamy, peaty soil. It is suitable for USDA zones 8–11 and is not evergreen.
