Agave scabra, the Rough agave, is a perennial ornamental succulent from the Asparagaceae family. It thrives in full sun and requires low water, growing to a height of 0.3–1.5 meters in USDA zones 8–11. This evergreen plant has rough-textured leaves and prefers sandy, loamy, or chalky soils. It does not typically have a prominent bloom period and is not fragrant or attractive to pollinators.
