Sorghastrum

Sorghastrum viride is a grass species suitable for ornamental purposes, thriving in full sun with low water requirements. It is hardy in USDA zones 5–8, growing to a height of 0.6–1.2 meters. This grass blooms from late summer to fall, producing flowers in August, September, and October. It prefers sandy, loamy, or clay soils. It is not fragrant, does not attract pollinators, is not toxic, and is not evergreen.
