Buxus sempervirens, commonly known as Caucasian boxwood, is an evergreen shrub valued for its ornamental qualities. It prefers part shade and low water conditions, growing to a height of 1–2 meters. This shrub blooms with yellow flowers in March and April and thrives in loamy, chalky, or clay soils, suitable for USDA zones 5–8. It attracts pollinators but is not fragrant or toxic.
